The book "Don't Let Your Digital Footprint Kick You in the Butt" was born out of a desire to provide additional resources for schools to keep the conversation going, helping students and teachers extend the learning of the digital footprint.
Parents tend to take a hands-off approach to digital literacy, assuming that young people already know everything they need to know about social media usage, but this is not the case.
Digital footprint refers to all electronically connected activity, including online accounts and actions, that can potentially lead to trouble if not used responsibly.
The importance of being in control of one's digital footprint and creating a positive online persona for college admissions, potential employers, and peers.
